Global Standards of Beauty
Global standards of beauty vary across times, places, and cultures. However, some beauty standards persist regardless of time, civilization, or culture. Many of these standards are closely related to the emergence, development, and sustainability of civilizations, including health and physical criteria such as fitness, agility, fertility, and overall physical health, which qualify an individual to be a successful partner in the future. These can be considered fundamental beauty standards across various countries, although other standards may differ from one era or culture to another.

Differences in Global Beauty Standards
In 2014, researchers at the University of Antwerp in Belgium conducted a study to discover global beauty standards for both men and women. The study included over five thousand European adolescents. The results indicated that men’s beauty standards are characterized by masculine facial features such as a strong jawline. In contrast, women’s beauty standards are defined by feminine features, including soft and delicate facial traits.

True beauty shines from within, reflecting the soul’s light.
When the study was expanded to include several African, Asian, and South American countries, as well as Russia, it revealed that beauty standards in small, remote communities differ from those in urban and developed societies. In these communities, men are often seen as more attractive when they possess softer, more delicate features rather than the traditionally masculine traits. Additionally, some cultures prefer fuller-bodied women over those with slender legs.
The study also emphasized the importance of considering psychological beauty standards when choosing a life partner, rather than focusing solely on physical beauty. Traits such as kindness, good behavior, and positive thinking are crucial factors for a happy and successful life together.

Beauty is the harmony of nature and spirit, seen in the kindness of a smile.
Prominent Global Beauty Standards
Many agree on several global beauty standards for women, including having a slim body and narrow waist, a soft and melodic voice, long flowing hair, a cheerful face with a constant smile, wide eyes with long eyelashes, and prominent cheekbones. Height, eye color, hair color, and texture can vary widely among individuals and what is common or rare in different societies.
For men, prominent global beauty standards include tall stature, broad chest and shoulders, a fit physique with noticeable muscles, gentle and compassionate eyes, strong and prominent facial features, and a well-groomed beard. While some view baldness as a significant beauty standard for men, others prefer a full head of hair.
